Overview

The Album App is a collaborative music organization tool for songwriters, producers, and bands. We collect only what we need to provide the service and don't sell your data to anyone.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. When you sign in with a magic link, we store your email address.

Your content. We store the projects, tracks, folders, notes, lyrics, and audio recordings you create within the app. This data belongs to you.

Usage data. Basic logs (errors, authentication events) are collected to keep the service working. We don't track you across other sites or sell analytics. We also store your device's time zone and connection speed to decide where to host the service, and how you use the app: the days you open it, how much time you spend in it and in which parts of it (such as albums, lyrics or notes), never what you do there. When an account is deleted, we keep its time zone and connection speed, no longer linked to it, along with an anonymous record that an account was deleted: whether it was paid, its time zone, its age, and figures about its use (how much it stored, how many projects and songs it had, how often the app was used, and how much time was spent in it and in which parts). We record the same figures when a paid plan ends without being renewed. This helps us understand who leaves and why. The data about how the app is used is anonymized: we never see your email or any other personal information—we don't know who spent 4 hours staring at the Settings page, just that someone did.

How we use it

  • —To authenticate you and keep your session active
  • —To store and sync your music projects across devices
  • —To enable collaboration features when you invite others to a project
  • —To send you transactional emails (magic links, invites)
  • —To learn how the app gets used (which parts people spend time in, which they skip, where they get stuck) so we know what to improve, fix, or cut
  • —To host the service somewhere that's fast for where you are
  • —To understand why people leave or stop paying, and do better by the ones who stay

No, we don't train AI on your data

Your songs are not training data. We don't use your audio, lyrics, notes, or anything else you put in the app to train AI models, and we don't sell or license it to anyone who does (cough unlike SOME COMPANIES cough, sorry I must have something stuck in my throat).

This will never change.

Third parties

Supabase. Our backend infrastructure. Your data is stored in Supabase's managed database and file storage. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant.

Google OAuth. Used only for sign-in. We receive your profile info from Google and store it in our database. We don't access any other Google services or data.

We don't use advertising networks, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. We count visits to share pages with an anonymous random identifier stored in the visitor's browser, used only to count unique visitors.
